The New Role (or Edit Role) page lets you assign permissions to the role you are creating or editing.
Properties
These fields let you specify general information about the role.
Name
Lets you specify a name for your role. This field is required, and must not contain any spaces. The name you specify will appear in the list of roles on the Role Management page (see Fields: Role Management) and in the list of role options when you create or edit a principal (see Fields: New/Edit Principal).
The name should be alpha-numeric, but can contain dashes (-), square brackets ([]), periods (.), and underscores (_).
Description
Lets you provide a text description of the role. This description will appear in the list of roles on the Role Management page (see Fields: Role Management).
Page Permissions
These fields let you specify the Viewpoint page permissions you want to set for the role. For more information, see Page Permissions.
Report Permissions
These fields let you specify the Viewpoint reporting permissions you want to set for the role. For more information, see Report Permissions.
Gadget Permissions
These fields let you specify the Viewpoint gadget permissions you want to set for the role. For more information, see Gadget Permissions.
Custom Permissions
These fields let you specify the custom permissions you want to set for the role. For more information, see Custom Permissions.
