Configuring the Hypervisor Allocation Overcommit policy

Context

On the Viewpoint Policy Management page, you can modify the settings of the Hypervisor Allocation Overcommit policy. This policy lets you allocate more memory and processor resources to VMs than actually physically exist on their corresponding hypervisor.

To configure the Hypervisor Allocation Overcommit policy

  1. Go to the Policy Management page (Administration > Policy Management).
  2. Select the Hypervisor Allocation Overcommit policy from the list of policies. For more information, Fields: Policy Management.

    3. You cannot make changes to an inactive policy. You must first turn on the policy in order to save modifications to it.

  3. Complete the fields as necessary to configure or modify the policy. For details, see Fields: Hypervisor Allocation Overcommit.
  4. Choose Save to save the policy settings.
