Configuring the Migration Exclusion policy
On the Viewpoint Policy Management page, you can modify the settings of the Migration Exclusion policy. This policy specifies which VMs and hypervisors to exclude from all automatic live migration policies.
Changes to the Migration Exclusion policy will not appear immediately. Expect a delay before they take effect.
To configure the Migration Exclusion policy
- Go to the Policy Management page (Administration > Policy Management).
- Select the Migration Exclusion policy from the list of policies. For more information, Fields: Policy Management.
- Complete the fields as necessary to configure or modify the policy. For details, see Fields: Migration Exclusion Policy.
- Choose Save to save the policy settings.
You cannot make changes to an inactive policy. You must first turn on the policy in order to save modifications to it.
You will see a pop-up that says "Are you sure you want to turn this policy off? These hypervisors and virtual machines will no longer be excluded from migration and the lists will be cleared." Viewpoint does not save lists you previously created for reuse when you turn the policy on again. You will have to create new lists.
