Configuring Viewpoint

Chapter 2: Configuring Viewpoint

Once you have completed the prerequisites and installed Viewpoint using the instructions in Installing/upgrading Viewpoint, you must then configure it to work at least with Moab Workload Manager, Moab Web Services, and the Viewpoint database. If you have installed a MySQL database for Moab and reporting, also configure that connection. You may do so manually using the core.xml, ViewpointConfig.groovy, hibernate.cfg.xml, and reporting.xml files respectively (see Manually configuring Viewpoint), or you can use the interface as demonstrated in the instructions that follow.

When you set the Host name on the Viewpoint database, Moab database, Moab, and Moab Web Services configuration pages, type the actual host name to prevent Viewpoint errors. Depending on a server's configuration, setting "localhost" may not work.

Configuring Viewpoint via the interface does not include upgrading. To upgrade Viewpoint, you must do so manually.
