2.2 Manually configuring Viewpoint

Moab Viewpoint for Moab HPC Suite can be configured automatically in the Viewpoint user interface (see Configuring Viewpoint through the interface); however, you may want to manually install or modify settings through the core.xml. To configure Viewpoint this way, follow the instructions below. To modify an individual section, see the corresponding page for information.

To install Moab Viewpoint for Moab HPC Suite using the core.xml file

  1. Verify that you have the correct versions of the software required and install Viewpoint according to the instructions given in Installing/upgrading Viewpoint.
  2. Give any desired Viewpoint users access to Moab. See Configuring Viewpoint Users in Moab.
  3. Create a connection from Viewpoint to Moab. To do so, follow the instructions given in Configuring a connection from Viewpoint to Moab. Configure your settings based on the connection type:
  4. Create a connection to the database by following the instructions in Configuring Viewpoint to communicate with your DBMS.
  5. Connect Viewpoint to Moab Web Services. See Connecting Viewpoint to the Moab Web Services.
  6. Configure Viewpoint security by following the instructions in Configuring security in Viewpoint.
  7. (Optional) Configure Moab Accounting Manager to be accessible through Viewpoint. See Configuring Moab Accounting Manager in Viewpoint.
  8. (Optional) Configure Viewpoint to run the VM Lifecycle and Events reports. See Configuring Viewpoint to run the Events report.
