Configuring Homepage gadgets

Viewpoint ships with default Homepage gadgets (see Homepage gadgets). Gadgets are simple HTML and JavaScript applications that can be embedded in Web pages and other applications. (For more information, see Adding a custom Homepage gadget.) You can also cause the Homepage to display custom gadgets as well.

Gadgets are managed in the gadgets.xml file. In this file, you can specify URLs to custom gadgets (see Adding a custom Homepage gadget), and customize the size and layout of the gadgets on the Homepage (for more information, see Customizing Homepage gadgets).

You can control which gadgets are available to which user by assigning gadget permissions to specific user roles. For more information, see About role management.

The Node Utilization and VM Utilization gadgets appear on the Homepage by default, but they will not display information until you run their respective reports in MWS. For more information, see Configuring the Datacenter Utilization gadgets.
