Requesting a service from a template
Context
Viewpoint lets you request a custom service or a service from a template. Service templates are created by administrators for you to use as a framework for requesting services. Once you select a template, you can request its resources and add what you need to your cart for purchase and use.
To request a service from a template
- Do one of the following:
- Go to the New Service page (Services > New Service).
Or
- Go to the Service Management page (Services > Service Management) and select New (for more information, see Fields: Service Management).
The New Service page appears. For more information, see Fields: New Service.
- Choose Service from template.
The Service Template page opens. For more information, see Fields: Service Templates.
- Choose (double-click) the template you want to use from the list of possible container templates.
- The Service Request page appears and displays the fields for the service template form. For more information, see Fields: Service Request.
- Complete the fields of the form as needed. If you have questions about any part of the form, please contact your administrator.
- Once you have configured your service as desired, choose Add to cart to add it to the cart, or Clear all to clear the form entirely.
After you have added your service to the cart, you can go to the Cart Details page to review your order and submit your request. For more information, see Using the cart.
