An LDAP or Active Directory connection is required for Viewpoint user authentication. Once you create a connection to your LDAP or Active Directory, the LDAP users and user groups can then access Viewpoint with their LDAP login credentials.
If you do not yet use LDAP or Active Directory, "Setting up OpenLDAP on CentOS 6" in the Moab Cloud Suite Installation and Configuration Guide contains detailed instructions to help you get started.
It is highly encouraged that you configure Viewpoint to trust the LDAP/Active Directory server certificate for a secure LDAP SSL connection. For more information, see "Securing a -LDAP/Active Directory connection" in the Moab Cloud Suite Installation and Configuration Guide.
To set the LDAP configuration
The LDAP Configuration form appears, and most of the fields are automatically populated by Moab Web Services. For details, see Fields: LDAP Configuration.
Once your LDAP connection has been configured, your LDAP users will be able to log in to Viewpoint.
